How to book your horsebox hire
To hire a horsebox from Somerset Horsebox Hire you must:

-
be aged 23-75,
-
have held a full licence for more than two years,
-
and have no more than 6 points on your licence.
Our standard hire rate includes a daily mileage limit of 300 miles. If you need to travel further this can be accommodated for an additional charge, please contact us for more information.
Our simple booking process
Step two
If the horsebox is available, we will ask you to provide:
-
2 forms of identity with your address e.g. a utility bill,
-
Photographs of your driving licence (the front and the back of the card).
Step three
You will then need to supply us with a ‘licence check code’ from the DVLA.
What’s that?
Since June 2015, the paper element of your driving licence was abolished. So now, to hire a vehicle you have to provide the supplier with a code from the DVLA. To create a code, you will need to enter your driving licence number, National insurance number and postcode into the Government site and then click ‘create a code’. The code is valid for 21 days. For more information view the DVLA pages.
Step four
Once we have received the code, you will need to complete and return a signed copy of our contract along with a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the hire value to secure the booking.

We understand that not everyone has access to a printer, in which case, please let us know when you call to make your deposit payment and we will arrange for you to complete the paperwork when you pick up the vehicle.
Step five
The balance of the hire must be paid in full when you arrive with us to pick up the horsebox.
If you are hiring the horsebox and wish to leave your car with us during the rental period, we are happy to do so. The car will be parked in a secure area but please be aware that you do so at your own risk and under your insurance.
